River Yamuna exceeding danger level

NEW DELHI : Release of water from Haryana barrage has led to the bound rise in Yamuna’s water flow level. Haryana has been continuously releasing water for the past two rainy dys and is furthermore expected to release more.

Army has been alerted to help civil administration when required. The water level of Yamuna on Tuesday evening was 205.72 m and is expected to reach 207.75 m by wednesday evening. Which is unavoidably the highest in 35 years!

Officials claim the evacuation of 2000 people from low lying areas prone to flooding. These conditions may turn worse. This may result in homelessness to many and in rare cases even death.
